#9 Railroad Place in Hopewell began as Millette’s Livery in the 1890s in a two-story building set back from the street on Cook Place. After becoming Blackwell’s Livery, the business transitioned to Blackwell’s Garage, adding Ford and Esso sales and service, and added a one-story front addition. Later it became Holcombe’s Garage, then Stan’s Garage, and then finally The Car Depot.
