Reading Railroad – Crusader and Wall Street (7:27)
Video clips and contemporary brochures and graphics showing the Reading’s promotion of its Crusader and Wall Street trains.
- The Crusader was a five-car stainless steel streamlined express train that ran from Philadelphia’s Reading Terminal to Jersey City, with a ferry connection to Lower Manhattan at Liberty Street. Introduced in 1937, service continued to the early 1980s. The train consisted of two stainless-steel coaches, two observation cars at each end, and a dining car in the middle.
- The Wall Street (6:00) was the Reading’s other upscale Philadelphia–Jersey City train.
