Runyon Farmstead History
The Runyon Farmstead property is at 19 West Broad Street, just west of South Greenwood Avenue. The property fronts Broad Street with one of the oldest houses in the borough, and extends back behind the Post Office to Gazebo Park. It was the site of the Hopewell Baptist Academy from around 1756 to 1767.
The development plan for the property is to create four separate duplex units. The original house will be converted into two separate units, two existing barns will be moved and each converted into a duplex units, and a third new barn will be constructed to provide two more units.
A one-way shared driveway will provide access to all the structures, with the entrance on West Broad Street and the exit on South Greenwood Avenue between the Post Office and the Hopewell Theater.
